Home, Sweet Home
Along the shores of Silver Lake, Bellingham,
I’ve lived in one place for over 30 years now, and walked this path along the edge of Silver Lake countless times. On these walks I’ve met my neighbors, many who have become friends. I’ve watched as they have grown older (as have I) and feel wistful; so many have grown old and died. As I pass each house along my walk, I think of each person who called this place “home,” greeted me on my daily walks, and offered a friendly voice during some difficult times in my life. Gone, but not forgotten.

Trees on Fire–Fall in New England
Cemeteries are wonderful places to walk. I spotted these sugar maples in a cemetery in Mendon, MA and had to stop and walk around, to attempt to capture the vibrant colors in this quiet little place. What a fleeting gift. Enjoy.

Fleeting time for fall foliage
Lookout Rock in Northbridge, MA on Quaker Street always offers a lovely view of the countryside. Lots of “leaf peepers” hit the highways and head north or west from here to see the sights, but miss the sometimes spectacular views right in our backyard. Right now I am hitting the trail as often as I can to capture views such as this before winter sets in. I am keenly aware of the seasons. I also know that spring will return!
