Here’s a little about me, Marjorie Turner Hollman.

I grew up in Florida and come from a long line of southern storytellers. My degree in history is from Bridgewater (MA) State College. I was beckoned north by college—and snow!

I’ve helped numerous people find their voice and share their stories with others. Multiple veterans oral histories have been recorded with my assistance through the Bellingham/Mendon Veteran’s Oral History Project. A freelance writer for the past 20 years, I’ve written for the Christian Science Monitor and numerous other local, regional, and national publications.

I’m a personal historian who loves the outdoors, and have authored several books, including Easy Walks in Massachusetts 2nd edition, and More Easy Walks in Massachusetts and now Easy Walks and Paddles in the Ten Mile River Watershed; together these trail books lead folks to nearly at least 120 trails in 37 contiguous town in S. Central MA. With mobility issues myself, I am still healing, having been totally paralyzed on my right side 25 years ago. So I pay close attention to what constitutes an Easy Walk, seeking out those places that offer enjoyable, safe experiences for young and old, for those with mobility challenges, or perhaps simply recovering from injury.

Many generous people have helped me through the years; they’ve given me chances to try new things, provided emergency grammar lessons, offered cups of tea, spoken words of encouragement, and so much more. In gratitude, I look for opportunities to provide a helping hand. What can I do for you? Got a story? I’m ready to listen.
