Show & Tell: Bellingham

The idea of show and tell is an old one, what’s new is that we’re giving a chance for grown ups to enjoy the fun, bring a photo or special object to share with others who have come, either to share or simply to listen.

Here’s our first video, to give you a taste of the fun these events offer, and to whet your appetite for upcoming events. http://youtu.be/1yLULpPVdiU

This format was conceived by Martie McNabb, owner and personal historian Memories Out of the Box http://memoriesoutofthebox.com/. Two years ago, Martie started these informal gatherings in Brooklyn, NY, and it’s now becoming a movement! Events using Martie’s format are being hosted in conjunction with the Association of Personal Historians http://www.personalhistorians.org/ in locations as far-flung as Australia, Canada, North Carolina, and in my neck of the woods, Bellingham, MA.  For more news, https://www.facebook.com/showandtellit

Marjorie Turner Hollman is a personal historian who loves the outdoors, and has completed two guides to Easy Walking trails in Massachusetts, “Easy Walks in Massachusetts 2nd edition,” and “More Easy Walks in Massachusetts.” A native Floridian, she came north for college and snow! New England Regional Chair for the Association of Personal Historians, she is a Certified Legacy Planner with LegacyStories.org, and is the producer of numerous veterans interviews for the Bellingham/Mendon Veteran’s History Project. http://www.marjorieturner.com
